1. Who We Are

Follo ("we", "our", "us") operates the Follo platform, accessible at joinfollo.app. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use and protect it.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

Account information: name, email address, and optionally a social media handle when you join the waitlist or create an account
Creator application data: your name, contact details, platform handles, follower count, and category when you apply to join as a Star
Payment information: processed securely by our third-party payment providers; Follo does not store full card details
Communications: any messages you send through the Platform or to our support team
Usage data: standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, used solely for security and product improvement

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Operate and maintain the Platform and your account
Process transactions and send related confirmations
Send you platform updates, launch notifications, and responses to your enquiries
Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
Improve and personalise the Platform experience
Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your personal data for targeted advertising and we do not build advertising profiles on any user.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

Service providers: trusted third parties who assist us in operating the Platform (such as payment processors and cloud infrastructure providers), under strict data processing agreements
Legal requirements: when required by applicable law, court order, or governmental authority
Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred; we will notify you before this occurs

Any third-party service provider we engage is contractually prohibited from using your data for their own purposes.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with services. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Waitlist data is retained only until the Platform launches or the waitlist programme ends, after which it is deleted unless you have created an account.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Correction: request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data
Deletion: request that we delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
Objection: object to certain processing of your data
Withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time

7. Cookies and Tracking

Follo uses only essential cookies required for the Platform to function (such as session management and theme preference). We do not use third-party tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or analytics tools that share data with external parties.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect certain Platform functionality.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encrypted data transmission (TLS), encrypted storage, and strict access controls for our team.

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you within 72 hours of becoming aware of it, as required by applicable law.

9. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that we have collected data from someone under 18 without appropriate consent, we will delete it immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a prominent notice on the Platform, at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
